Unique, Ultra-Accessible™ Morgan’s Wonderland Theme Park Wins Another TripAdvisor Award

Certificate of Excellence

SAN ANTONIO – For the seventh consecutive year, ultra-accessible™ Morgan’s Wonderland theme park has earned a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel website, for “earning exceptional traveler ratings over the past year.”

This recognition places Morgan’s Wonderland in the top-performing 10 percent of all businesses worldwide on TripAdvisor, according to Stephen Kaufer, TripAdvisor president and CEO.  To qualify for the award, businesses must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed by travelers on TripAdvisor, and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.

“We’re both delighted and humbled that our guests would take the time to respond to TripAdvisor and award us very high ratings,” said Ron Morander, Morgan’s Wonderland general manager.  “This Certificate of Excellence makes us want to redouble our efforts in providing the best guest hospitality possible.”

Morgan’s Wonderland, a safe, colorful and affordable park, will be open daily through mid-August, along with new Morgan’s Inspiration Island splash park, which opened just a year ago.  For the latest information on operating schedules, admissions and special events, visit www.MorgansWonderland.com.  Both non-profit parks admit anyone with a cognitive or physical disability free of charge.

The TripAdvisor recognition comes on the heels of another national honor – the 2018 Barrier-Free America Award bestowed by the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) organization of Washington, D. C.  In addition, Morgan’s Wonderland was proclaimed 2017 “Park of the Year” during the Golden Ticket Awards presented by Amusement Today, an internationally-circulated publication focusing on theme parks and attractions, and Morgan’s Inspiration Island earned the World Waterparks Association 2017 Leading Edge Award.

With inclusion as their guiding principle, Morgan’s Wonderland and Morgan’s Inspiration Island were designed with special-needs individuals in mind and built for everyone’s enjoyment, Morander noted.  Twenty-five-acre Morgan’s Wonderland features more than 25 attractions including wheelchair-accessible rides, playscapes, gardens and a picnic area where guests can bring their own food and dine in shaded comfort.

Tropically-themed Morgan’s Inspiration Island offers five major splash pads, the River Boat Adventure ride and support facilities such as the Wheelchair Valet, where guests can transfer out of their personal wheelchairs into specially-designed waterproof wheelchairs for maximum aquatic fun.

Morgan’s Wonderland and Morgan’s Inspiration Island are located at 5223 David Edwards Drive in Northeast San Antonio a half-mile west of IH 35 at the intersection of Wurzbach Parkway and Thousand Oaks Drive.
