Ultra-Accessible™ Morgan’s Wonderland Theme Park Qualifies for TripAdvisor Hall of Fame

SAN ANTONIO – For having earned a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for the past five years, unique, ultra-accessible™ Morgan’s Wonderland theme park has qualified for TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame.

“Actually, we’ve earned a Certificate of Excellence for the past eight years,” said Morgan’s Wonderland Chief Operating Officer Ron Morander.  “We’re delighted as well as humbled that our guests would take the time to respond to TripAdvisor and award us very high ratings.  This Hall of Fame honor motivates us to work even harder to provide the best guest hospitality possible.”

TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel website, uses guest feedback to award Certificates of Excellence to hospitality businesses that deliver consistently great service.  Only about 10 percent of such businesses merit the Certificate of Excellence.   To qualify for a Certificate, a business must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed by travelers on TripAdvisor, Morander explained.

Morgan’s Wonderland, a safe, colorful and affordable park, will be open daily through mid-August, along with next-door Morgan’s Inspiration Island splash park.  For the latest information on operating schedules, admissions and special events, visit www.MorgansWonderland.com.  Both non-profit parks admit anyone with a cognitive or physical disability free of charge.

The TripAdvisor recognition comes on the heels of another national honor – the 2018 Barrier-Free America Award bestowed by the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) organization of Washington, D. C.  In addition, TIME named Morgan’s Inspiration Island to the magazine’s 2018 list of World’s Greatest Places.  And, Service Dogs Inc., honored Morgan’s Wonderland and Morgan’s Inspiration Island with the inaugural Texas Accessibility Award.

With inclusion as their guiding principle, Morgan’s Wonderland and Morgan’s Inspiration Island were designed with special-needs individuals in mind and built for everyone’s enjoyment, Morander said.  Twenty-five-acre Morgan’s Wonderland features more than 25 attractions including wheelchair-accessible rides, playscapes, gardens and a picnic area where guests can bring their own food and dine in shaded comfort.

Tropically-themed Morgan’s Inspiration Island offers five major splash pads, the River Boat Adventure ride and support facilities such as the Wheelchair Valet, where guests can transfer out of their personal wheelchairs into specially-designed waterproof wheelchairs for maximum aquatic fun.

Morgan’s Wonderland and Morgan’s Inspiration Island are located at 5223 David Edwards Drive in Northeast San Antonio a half-mile west of IH 35 at the intersection of Wurzbach Parkway and Thousand Oaks Drive.
