Known for his ability to locate large schools of bass, Scroggins is one of the world’s best anglers, having recorded almost $2 million in Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (B.A.S.S.) tournament earnings. This super-friendly angler from Palatka, Fla., also is a winner at grilling anything that swims in fresh or saltwater. Wheeler, an Indiana native who now lives in Tennessee, is an up-and-comer with approximately $450,000 in B.A.S.S. earnings. Last year, the 27-year-old won the Bassmaster Elite Series tournament on Lake Cherokee, Tenn.
The anglers are stopping by San Antonio on their way to Jonestown, Texas, just outside of Austin for the 2018 Toyota Bassmaster Texas Fest (benefiting the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department) at Jones Brothers Park, May 17-20. The $1-million, 108-man tournament not only will feature big bass but also lots of other excitement such as companies showcasing their latest products and gear, kids’ activities and prizes for all. The best part — everything is free.
