SAN ANTONIO – Morgan’s Wonderland will observe Labor Day – Monday, Sept. 2 – with special entertainment including a parade and an interactive dance party, and the holiday will mark the beginning of the fall season at the world’s first theme park designed with special-needs individuals in mind and built for everyone’s enjoyment.
The safe, affordable and ultra-accessible™ park will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 2. Leading up to Labor Day, Morgan’s Wonderland will be open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31; and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1.
Meanwhile, Morgan’s Inspiration Island splash park will be open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31; 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1; and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 2, Labor Day.

Special entertainment on Labor Day at Morgan’s Wonderland will include opening ceremonies at 10:30 a.m. with a special performance by the Inclusion Fusion Choir. DJ Axe6 will follow with music for an all-access dance party and parade led by Morgan’s Wonderland goodwill ambassadors. The Astonishing Mr. Pitts will be strolling through the park and performing his magic puppet show, and therapy animals – llamas and dogs – will be interacting with guests. Rounding out the lineup will be face painting and accessible midway-inspired games from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Meanwhile, at next-door Morgan’s Inspiration Island, guests will enjoy all kinds of aquatic fun in the sun, thanks to spouts, geysers, dumping buckets and lots of other get-wet gizmos. The splash park includes five major, tropically-themed splash pads, the River Boat Adventure ride and support facilities such as the Wheelchair Valet, where guests can transfer out of their personal chairs into specially-designed waterproof wheelchairs.
“Even though summer vacation is over and school has resumed, Morgan’s Wonderland will continue to offer family fun on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in September, October and November,” said Ron Morander, chief operating officer. “Then we’ll close our 2019 season with another colorful and festive ‘A Wonderland Christmas’ celebration on select evenings. Meanwhile, Morgan’s Inspiration Island will continue to offer splashy fun on warm weekends in September through Sunday, the 15th.”
The only theme park of its kind in the world, Morgan’s Wonderland offers more than 25 attractions including wheelchair-accessible rides, playgrounds and gardens for everyone’s enjoyment. The park recently earned admission to TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame for earning the honor eight consecutive years. Morgan’s Inspiration Island last year earned a spot on TIME magazine’s list of World’s Greatest Places.
Morgan’s Wonderland and Morgan’s Inspiration Island are located at 5223 David Edwards Drive in Northeast San Antonio a half-mile west of IH 35 at the intersection of Wurzbach Parkway and Thousand Oaks Drive.
