Community-Based Instruction Sessions at Morgan’s Wonderland To Begin March 23

WHO: More than 250 elementary-school and pre-school students, along with their teachers, from throughout Greater San Antonio.

WHAT: Beginning of spring community-based instruction (CBI) sessions at Morgan’s Wonderland in which students learn lessons created in collaboration with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and Regions 1-20, Education Service Center special-education staff. Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)-based lesson plans in science, mathematics and other subjects will be taught in four 25-minute rotations throughout the unique theme park, which becomes an extension of the classroom.

WHEN: 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2022.

WHERE: Morgan’s Wonderland, 5223 David Edwards Drive (at the intersection of Wurzbach Parkway and Thousand Oaks Drive, a half-mile west of IH 35 in Northeast San Antonio).

WHY: To offer interactive learning outside the classroom in a colorful, inclusive outdoor setting.

ETC.: Other spring CBI sessions have been scheduled for March 24, 28, 29, 30 and 31; and April 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26 and 27. This spring, more than 4,000 students will have an opportunity to participate in CBI sessions.

Morgan’s Wonderland, which is completely wheelchair-accessible, features more than 25 elements and attractions including rides, playscapes and gardens. It’s located in Northeast San Antonio at the intersection of Wurzbach Parkway and Thousand Oaks Drive, a half-mile west of IH 35.
