‘More Fun in ‘21’ To Celebrate Return of Morgan’s Wonderland Beginning Friday, March 5

SAN ANTONIO – “More Fun in ‘21” will be the theme marking the return of the unique Morgan’s Wonderland theme park on Friday, March 5, after a nine-month closure caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Morgan’s Wonderland guests will get to enjoy more than 25 colorful attractions including wheelchair-accessible rides, said Jessica Lizardo, general manager of the world-renowned park designed with individuals with special needs in mind and built for everyone’s enjoyment.

In preparation for the safe return of guests, Morgan’s Wonderland officials have been collaborating with health experts on COVID-19 preventative measures.

“We will require guests to wear face masks, practice physical-distancing, consume food and snacks in designated areas and use hand-sanitizing stations throughout the park,” Lizardo said. “Since there will be capacity limits on the number of guests admitted to Morgan’s Wonderland, all guests will be required to purchase admission tickets online at www.MorgansWonderland.com/admissions before visiting.”

In turn, Morgan’s Wonderland employees will be required to undergo health screenings and temperature checks each day of park operation, wear masks, limit time spent indoors, follow physical-distancing where applicable, wipe down high-touch surfaces with disinfectant throughout the day and use hand-sanitizing stations following guest transactions.

“We can’t wait for the return of guests to Morgan’s Wonderland,” Lizardo said, “but we want to do so in the safest way possible.”

“More Fun in ‘21” will continue with daily operation at Morgan’s Wonderland for spring break – March 10-14 – and with “Splash Day 2021” in May, the reopening of Morgan’s Inspiration Island splash park, named by TIME Magazine to its list of World’s 100 Greatest Places. Plans also will be announced in the near future for the grand opening of Morgan’s Wonderland Sports, a $4-million complex providing fun, fitness and competition for athletes of all abilities.

Morgan’s Wonderland, Morgan’s Inspiration Island, Morgan’s Wonderland Sports and other facilities to help the special-needs community comprise the Morgan’s Wonderland Inclusion Foundation (MWIF), founded in 2020 to coordinate fundraising, planning and communications among all Morgan’s Wonderland-associated projects. The new foundation seeks to increase growth of the Morgan’s Wonderland “family” – soon to include Morgan’s Wonderland Camp and the Multi-Assistance Center at Morgan’s Wonderland, or The MAC – and expand its mission of inclusion through sustained funding and support. Morgan’s Wonderland is located at 5223 David Edwards Drive, a half-mile west of IH 35 at the intersection of Wurzbach Parkway and Thousand Oaks Drive. For more information, call (210) 495-5888, or visit www.MorgansWonderland.com.
