Easter ‘Eggstravaganza’ Planned at Morgan’s Wonderland on Saturday, April 15

April 3, 2017

SAN ANTONIO – Easter egg hunts and other family fun activities will highlight an “Eggstravaganza” at Morgan’s Wonderland from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 15.

In addition to celebrating Easter, the Eggstravaganza will help mark the 7th anniversary of Morgan’s Wonderland, which held its grand opening April 10, 2010, as the world’s first theme park designed with special-needs individuals in mind and built for everyone’s enjoyment, said Ron Morander, general manager.

In recognition of the 7th anniversary, Morgan’s Wonderland will offer a $7 per person admission all day long April 15 that’s about half off the regular adult ticket price, he noted.  Special-needs guests always get in free of charge, as do children age 2 and younger.

Hunts for 14,000 plastic Easter eggs will begin at 9 a.m. and continue as follows:

  • 9-9:20 – Opening rally
  • 9:25 – Guests up to 3 years old
  • 9:45 – 4-6 years old
  • 10:05 – Guests in wheelchairs
  • 10:25 – 7-9 years old
  • 10:45 – 10-12 years old.

Special entertainment will include the Bunny Hop Dance Party with The Wonder Squad, four Morgan’s Wonderland super heroes, plus photos with butterfly mascot Joy, face painting and games.  The park’s wheelchair-accessible rides will open at 11 a.m.

The latest information on Morgan’s Wonderland admissions, operating days/hours of operation and special events/celebrations can be found at www.MorgansWonderland.com.  The 25-acre, non-profit theme park, ranked among the top 25 in America by TripAdvisor,  is located at 5223 David Edwards Drive in Northeast San Antonio, a half-mile west of IH 35 at the intersection of Wurzbach Parkway and Thousand Oaks Drive.

Offering more than 25 attractions including rides, playgrounds and gardens, Morgan’s Wonderland is the center of a family fun destination known as Wonderland, Texas.  It also includes The Academy at Morgan’s Wonderland (www.MorgansWonderland.academy), a school for students with special needs ages 12 to 24 next to the theme park.
